This is Carpodacus Mexicanus commonly called the House Finch.
These little guys are all over our backyard in the spring and summer, chirping, building nests and having babies and doing what ever they want. When it starts getting cold in the fall they fly south and spend the winter in Mexico. The male has the red color and the females are generally on the grey side.
This is 5"x7" watercolor on 140lb. Kiliminjaro watercolor paper. If you'd like a print please visit my Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/BillsArtShop
